Spotify for Linux available for free users too

Spotify, the most awesome media player on the planet has launched a Linux preview for users who do not pay for it's services aka free users.

It's a highly welcome patch however it is a beta release so it is kinda unstable. However it's nice enough for daily usage.

It's only available for debian based linux so it;s bad luck for others :/. Here's how to install it on Ubuntu.

Installing

First open up a terminal and type this

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Now add the following line and save it

deb http://repository.spotify.com stable non-free

Now you have to get the signing keys.

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 94558F59

Now it's time to install it

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install spotify-client

Ta da, we have spotify

Fixing Crashes

I have found out that by simply leaving spotify in the What's New page, crashes can be prevented.
